New Law to Regulate School Fees in Delhi Will Not Be Implemented in the 2026–27 Session

The much-anticipated reform on School Fees in Delhi will not be implemented during the current academic session 2026-27. The Delhi Government informed the Supreme Court that the proposed legislation aimed at regulating private school fees is still under preparation and will take additional time before coming into force.

Current Status of Delhi School Fee Regulation

According to the submission made before the Supreme Court, the new law designed to strengthen Private School Fee Control mechanisms will not apply this session. Until the legislation is formally passed and implemented, schools will be restricted in their ability to revise fees.

The Delhi Education Department clarified that:
